The Republican National Committee is responsible for creating and advancing the political agenda and platform of the Republican Party of the United States. The Republican National Committee is also required to put together fundraising efforts in order to finance Republican campaigns. The Republican National Committee promotes republican beliefs such as strength through defense, as well as the power and opportunity provided by America’s free market economy. It promotes the conservative ideals of the Republican Party, such as advocating legislation that would ban abortion and embryonic stem cell research. The support the privatization of health care and argue that government run health care will provide all individuals with inadequate health care. Instead, people who can afford to pay for health care should pay for it, and people who can not should receive government funded health care. The Republican National Committee seeks to protect the liberties that are laid out in the American Constitution, such as an individual’s right to free speech, or the right to keep and bear arms. The Republican National Committee believes that American’s are lucky to live in the United State’s, where they are protected by a unique set of rights and liberties that are not found in many countries around the world. They believe that free markets help to keep people free and they support business regulations that will encourage people to begin their own businesses. The Republican National Committee argues that a strong military is necessary to defend our democracy, but that it is also necessary to promote human rights, freedom and peace throughout the world. Michael Steele was elected the chairman of the Republican National Committee on January 30, 2009 and will serve until January 2011. The Republican National Committee offers a wide range of internships for undergraduate students. They encourage any undergraduate student that has an interest in politics or the political process to think about applying for an internship position. Here students will gain invaluable hands on experience and create lasting contacts that will be useful for the rest of their lives. There are internships available within each of the divisions of the Republican National Committee. A Republican Committee will also offer many volunteer positions as volunteers are essential to fundraising and organizing campaigns.

Every state has a Republican Committee. A Republican Committee is granted the power by law to select the members of the National Committee from their given state. They are also the state’s authority on coordinating Republican activities and increasing the impact of the Republican Party throughout the state. A state Republican Committee often carries out fundraisers and collects donation in order to finance Republican campaigns. The National Republican Senatorial Committee is a Republican committee that was founded in 1916 and is dedicated to electing Republican to the United States Senate. They provide support to any possible or current Republican United States Senate candidate by assisting in fundraising, budget planning, campaign strategy and any research that they need. Their goal is to overpower democrats in the United States Senate. They existence of Republican committees, like that of Democratic committees, relies heavily on donations from individuals and organizations.
